A modern Glendale funeral home

Built on the grounds of West Resthaven Park Cemetery in 2009, West Resthaven Funeral Home is situated off the Phoenix-Wickenburg Highway, at the corner of West Northern and North 63rd avenues. It has a large nondenominational chapel that seats up to 250 guests. Large windows provide the chapel with an abundance of natural light. Our event space hosts catered receptions for up to 100 guests.

From a traditional funeral with a cemetery burial, to a simple cremation with a scattering at a meaningful place, to an elaborate celebration of life, we take care of every detail.

We Honor Veterans

At West Resthaven Funeral Home and West Resthaven Park Cemetery, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As Level Four Founding Community Partners with We Honor Veterans, we are honored to serve our nation’s heroes and take this responsibility seriously. We host community events annually in honor of veterans and work closely with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

We also participate in the Dignity Memorial^® Homeless Veterans Burial Program, founded on the belief that every veteran deserves a dignified and honorable burial. Through the program created in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, homeless and indigent veterans who have no family to claim them are identified and provided with proper military burials.

West Resthaven Park Cemetery

Founded in 1947 in Glendale, Arizona, the 90-acre West Resthaven Park Cemetery is a peaceful final resting place and tranquil retreat for friends and family to remember.

The cemetery has a number of naturally soothing elements, including eucalyptus, sage, Mondale pine, mesquite and purple plum trees. The sweet aroma of honeysuckle, roses and oleander fills the air during a warm breeze. Vibrant purple and periwinkle blue vincas emerge during the spring and create beautiful spots for reflection.

Beautiful gardens and burial options

The cemetery comprises 32 numbered gardens and five named gardens. A walk down one of our winding paths reveals a range of burial options: in-ground burial, aboveground entombment, as well as many cremation choices. There are two outdoor mausoleum complexes, columbaria, cremation niches and benches, and private and semiprivate estates.

A walkway lined by palms leads to a private mausoleum in the Garden of Eternal Rest. The exclusive Desert Dove Estates offers a modern rocky landscape with options for in-ground burial as well as cremation benches. In a garden called Our Lady of Guadalupe, rose bushes flank the walkway to the center, where a statue of the lady sits. The Lady of La Vang is a Vietnamese garden and exclusive to members of Glendale's Vietnamese Martyrs Parish.

The cremation garden has a tiered water fountain and a trellis covered in ivy. Jets create gentle babbling sounds, and crystal clear water flows down a stream bed lined with rock. This garden also has cremation benches, niches and posts.

Supporting public servants

West Resthaven Funeral Home and West Resthaven Park Cemetery support Glendale's public servants. The Dignity Memorial Public Servants Program recognizes the courage and selflessness of career and volunteer law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency services personnel. Through the program we offer dignified and honorable tributes, at no cost, for men and women in these groups who die in the line of duty. In addition, the program offers extended counseling services to family members, as well as the opportunity to create an internet tribute as a loving memorial.

Community involvement

The West Resthaven Funeral Home and West Resthaven Park Cemetery teams are involved in many local and national organizations, including Kiwanis International, the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, and the Arizona Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Association’s Foundation for Children.

During the year, we hold a number of events open to the public.

A Memorial Day service honors those who have given their lives in service to our country. More than 350 people attend the annual event, which includes moving speakers, live music, flyovers by vintage WWII planes and a picnic lunch. We place more than 4,500 American flags throughout the cemetery prior to the service, thanks to members of local scouts troops, the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and the American Legion.

During the first week of November, we host a popular Día de los Muertos celebration. This lively event celebrates Mexican culture and supports the spiritual journeys of loved ones lost. We hand out traditional Mexican chocolates and loaves of bread and conclude the day’s festivities with an evening mass.

Guests of our December Night of Remembrance enjoy sweet treats and seasonal music, and they hang ornaments with the names and photos of their loved ones on our holiday tree and light candles in their honor. Religious leaders are present at the event and help attendees gain a sense of peace and healing.
